Photography Research InformationChoose a Photographer to research and record the relevant information below. Be thorough. Be sure to record your 3 sources! No Wikipedia. You may use Wikipedia as a guide. Meaning only if you follow and source the original source. Complete both Part 1 and Part 2.
PART 1
1. Personal Background: (5 sentences. Culture, nationality, schooling, important life events, etc.)
Name of Artist: Clint Losee
Clint Losee is a landscape photographer from Utah. He started his photography career in 2012, because of his love for cameras and taking photos. He grew up in Utah and has lived there his whole life. He has won awards each year from 2014-2018. Very accomplished photographer.
2. Style: (5 sentences. What visual characteristics does this artist’s work possess? If you can compare it to a painting or art history style please do.)
Clint Losee’s photos are Landscape photography. Just by looking at his photos you can tell that he uses the rule of thirds. He also tends to use long exposure on his photos with moving water. A lot of his photos remind me of the paintings of Bob Ross. I believe this is intentional because of the striking resemblance.
3. Philosophy: (5 sentences. What were the major ideas behind this artist’s work? Where they personal, political, social, etc. What were they trying to “say” with their photographs?)
Clint Losee is in love with his natural and landscape photography because of his love for nature. He finds beauty in the natural world, which he tries to capture through taking photographs. There is no political or social reason behind his photos because they are all about nature, nature does not have political or social issues. Nature just exists as is and that is beautiful.
4. Influences: (5 sentences. How has the photographer influenced you in your work or who were they influenced by?)
Although he never says it, Bob Ross is definitely one of his influences. Along with his drone shots that look like they came out of Planet Earth. I think his greatest influence is himself though. Most nature photographers are like that. They see something they like, they take a picture. Sometimes the simplest answers are the best.
Part 2
For Part 2 of the Photographer’s Research, you will need to choose 3 images by the Photographer you can recreate. This is the purpose of the Project. You need to post the 3 images by your Photographer, their title and their source or link. Alongside or underneath the image by your Photographer you will post the 3 EMULATED or Imitated Images you created and edited.
5. Compare and Contrast: You will need to compare and contrast your final 3 images with the 3 images you choose by your photographer. Write about each piece (3 sentences.)

https://clintlosee.com/portfolio/turret-arch-winter-morning-view/

The Arch pieces are two different arches, not the same one. They look very similar to each other and I like that about the pieces. Good two photos.
The pillar pieces also look very similar but the view from Losee’s point of view is way better of course. I took mine off the side of the road so it was not as cool. Still able to appreciate both though.
The canyon pieces are very cool. I like how small mine looks even though I actually walked through those narrow gaps for miles. A place called Dead Horse Canyon.
6. Personal Artist Statement: Your images should tell a story. In 5 sentences tell me about your images. Use Visual Literacy vocabulary to enhance your report.
My images represent the similarities in life when you loosely compare any two things to each other. They show that even though we are all different, we are also the same in many ways too. We are all human. But humans can mean many different things. From arches to someone's personality. It's all related.
7. Resources: Cannot be Wikipedia. You need to include where you found the information about your artist, provide a link and/or article title.
